The Risk Management Division's purpose is to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of the community and employees. We are committed to fostering a culture of risk awareness and resilience through effective policies, innovative solutions, and collaborative partnerships. By prioritizing transparency and accountability, we aim to protect public resources.

Risk Management safeguards the City’s assets and its workforce by overseeing insurance and employee safety initiatives. Specifically, Risk Management concentrates on areas such as Workers’ Compensation, property and vehicle insurance, and general liability coverage. These efforts are designed to lower liability and mitigate financial and other risks for the City and its stakeholders.

Step 1: If you believe you have a legal claim against the City, first confirm that the incident occurred within City limits and the involved property is owned by the City of Fort Pierce. If the incident took place outside of the City limits, please do not use this form. Instead, you should contact the relevant entity.

Step 2: Fill out the liability claim below and attach supporting documents like invoices, estimates, photographs, or any other materials that help demonstrate the value of your claim and explain why you believe the City is responsible. If you are submitting a claim for an injury, you may need to provide additional forms at a later date.

Step 3: We will contact you within 72 hours of receiving the claim. After reviewing the information submitted, an internal investigation will be initiated. An investigation may involve reaching out to you for more information. Once the investigation is complete, you will be informed of the next steps.
