Solid Waste Division

The City of Fort Pierce provides full-service solid waste collection for residents and commercial customers in a safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner. In addition, the city provides bulky collection for those items too large to fit in the garbage cart.  

Solid Waste Rate Changes

Starting Oct. 1, 2025, City of Fort Pierce residents and commercial businesses will see an adjustment in solid waste collection fees.

Curbside collection increased from $29.04 to $34.

SANITATION RATES: Residential and Commercial Rates

Customers may contact the Call Center at (772) 467-3794 or via email for general service requests and inquiries. 

Sanitation services are billed to the customer's utility account. Before garbage collection can begin, customers must establish an account with FPUA. Please contact 772-466-1600 to activate an account.

When will my trash be collected?

  • Residential household garbage (green carts) collection is provided twice per week.
  • Recycling (blue carts) collection is provided once weekly.
  • Yard Waste (black carts) collection is once weekly.

To ensure proper service, your carts must be:

  • Placed curbside no later than 7:00 AM on the day of collection.
  • The city-issued carts must be unblocked (by vehicles and other obstacles, etc.) and placed 5 feet apart from other carts.
