Comprehensive Plan

The Comprehensive Plan serves as the City of Fort Pierce’s official blueprint for growth, development, and preservation. It outlines a long-term vision for the city’s future and provides a policy framework to guide decision-making on land use, housing, transportation, infrastructure, natural resources, economic development, and community character.

Required by state law and updated periodically, the Comprehensive Plan reflects the values and priorities of Fort Pierce residents, businesses, and stakeholders. It helps ensure that growth is well-managed, services are delivered efficiently, and the unique charm and environmental assets of Fort Pierce are preserved for future generations.

The plan consists of several elements—including Future Land Use, Transportation, Housing, Conservation, Recreation and Open Space, Coastal Management, and Capital Improvements—each addressing key components of the city's development.
