Grow the Canopy / Slow the Flow Adopt A Tree Event

Saturday, October 1, 2022

Our mission is to protect, conserve, restore, and enhance watershed, coastal and marine habitats and ecosystems. Marine Cleanup Initiative, Inc. and our partners will give away an assorted variety of trees, shrubs & flowers that are native to Florida or are considered Florida friendly by Saint Lucie County’s UF/IFAS Extension Services. We hope to protect our native ecosystems for future generations and encourage public awareness about the need to maintain a viable tree canopy and Lincoln Park's native beauty. Note! Only residents living inside the area between Orange Ave. to Ave. Q & 7th Street to 15th Street are eligible.

This is a walk-up event; staff will load a tree or plants into vehicles if needed. Trees/Plants are given away on a first-come, first-served basis to the City of Fort Pierce’s Lincoln Park residents (ID required). This event occurs twice a year, rain or shine. Participants will receive tree planting information from the Saint Lucie County University of Florida IFAS Extension Service along with their tree. Honor the fallen: We invite residents who will be receive a tree to plant it on their property in honor of a loved one who died in service to America. Then, share the name with MCII so we can honor them in our event write-up.
